Grama Niketan is a panel of committed professionals with keen interest and wide and valuable expertise in rural development. This is a non- governmental organization registered under the society’s registration Act 1955 (I-74/2007). It aims at social development through bringing co-operation among individuals, groups and communities. It encompasses the great vision of sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the rural poor by being a centre par excellence for rural development. Providing multidimensional support for the livelihood development for the rural poor is internalized as the duty and mission of Grama Niketan.

Edu-zone with the aim of providing quality education to the downtrodden sections of the society (Civil Service and other public service examination Coaching), Kisan Mitra for providing valuable guidance and support for the rural cultivators to get the real value for their efforts, E-Vignan with aim of integrating the rural poor with the globalized world through imparting quality IT Knowledge, Sreyas for promoting the thrift habits among the rural poor and ensuring enough credit facilities for their undertakings and innovative small ventures, Samrudhi for promoting agro based industries in the rural sectors, Grameen Vignan Kendras for spreading awareness about the new  development programmes and projects among the rural poor etc are the different programmes and projects running in the initiative of Grama Niketan.

A sister concern of the organization is working in Thodupuzha with a wide range of activities including Organising Women Self Help Groups with the promotion of micro finance, support and training for micro entreprises with special focuses to the manufacturing and marketing of food products, Coaching for Civil Service and other Public Service Examinations with scholarship provisions for the deserving rural and tribal candidates, Educational Aids for the marginalized poor. Grama Niketan enjoys the Affiliation with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Idukki (Affiliation No: 3009/2008) and also the Kerala state youth welfare board (Affiliation No: F 149)
